Chain Stoppers and Devil’s Claws are strongly recommended for safe anchoring by taking the load off the windlass and preventing damage to vital components, especially in severe conditions. Chain lock relies on a tongue locking into the chain links preventing the chain from running out. Devil’s claws tension up chain and anchor to ensure safety while travelling.
For the right operation of the windlass and chain stopper is recommended to align the chain lines between gypsy and chain stopper through appropriate thicknesses.
